National Advisory Board Seat Awarded to
Cinda Baxter of Details, Ink. in Minneapolis

Of all the paper shows around, the Granddaddy of them all is also the largest—the National Stationery Show held each May in New York city, attended by manufacturers and buyers from all over the world.

In the background of this behemoth show is a select group of individuals who make up the NSS Advisory Board. Of this group, only three or four are typically retailers—one of which is a Minneapolis boutique owner, Cinda Baxter of Details, Ink.

“What an honor,” says Baxter of the position. “I’m going to be at the table with people I admire and respect for their insight, hard work and dedication to this industry. To be invited to weigh in on matters that impact this show so significantly is a responsibility I take seriously.”

The term of her board position is three years, beginning with the 2002 show. Sitting next to her this first year will be Leonard Flax, founder of the renowned Kate’s Paperie and Sam Flax stores in New York. “Leonard reinvented much of what a stationery store is in today’s world. With several successful stores in Manhatten, you can’t help but hang on his every word. His wisdom is golden.”

In addition to the founder of Kate’s will be the grandson of George Little Management, Will Little. “While Leonard may have reinvented the stationery store, Will and his amazing staff have reinvented trade shows. They’ve turned more ‘soft’ shows into an exciting, vibrant experience for buyers and exhibitors than you can imagine. This is quite a collection of talent in one room.”

The National Stationery Show, established in 1935, brings together 1,400 exhibitors from more than twenty countries and over 14,000 buyers representing stores world wide. As the largest paper show in existence, the NSS occupies 25,000 feet in New York City’s Jacob Javitz Center, and is organized and operated by George Little Management, LLC of White Plains, New York.
