Details Ink of Minneapolis Receives Second National Award for Retail Excellence

The night was magical...the experience amazing...and in the end, a local Minneapolis retailer came home with a trophy. How much better does it get than that?

The REA combines three distinct industries—stationery, gift and home accessory—then from them culls the best of the best in the retail world. In February, Details Ink was nominated for what would be their second Retailer Excellence Award in ten years; upon returning to the store from the National Stationery Show in May, Cinda Baxter (owner) found a fax awaiting her arrival, announcing that her stationery boutique was one of three finalists in her category.

Sitting in the candle-lit ballroom of the Plaza Hotel in New York on Sunday night, surrounded by more than 250 industry leaders from all three areas of focus, it was Details Ink’s name she heard called from the podium.

“Thank you to everyone who cheered us on from home, and to all who have come to share their congratulations since our return,” exclaims Baxter. “You and you alone are the reason we strive to do it right. You’re our best asset and our favorite reason for doing what we do.”

Details Ink received their first national REA award in 1995, only one year after opening to the public. “To make a return trip to pick up another crystal trophy in such a short time is awesome. Needless to say, I’m having a lot of fun dusting off the new decoration on our awards shelf these days!”
